Speaker 1:

Hello, listen. Hello loves back. Hello loves, i'm back. Hello loves, i am back this week with a business strategy profit and loss, financial. We're going to talk all of the things, all of the things that I have changed in my business over the last six months to continue to build my business, but to build it at a Okay, hello loves, we are back for another episode of the Elisa show. Thank you so much for continuing to listen.

Speaker 1:

I'm super excited to be here to talk all things business strategy, planning, implementation, finance. I'm just going to try and pack in as much as I can in this episode because I am super, super excited to share with you some of the things that I have done in my business over the last six months that have helped my business to grow extremely, that I am so excited to share with you some of the things that have grown my business quickly but at a sustainable level, and I have not done some of the things that I'm going to discuss with you now. Then we would not be having this conversation. So I call up buttercup. Go, grab yourself a drink your favorite beverage. Go, grab yourself a drink your favorite beverage. I'm drinking minty at the moment from my China cup, because that's the kind of vibe that I'm in today, and I am here to shed as much as I can in the time that I've got with you to help to really to help you to consider the things that you want to go, to help you to really take the time to reflect and also maybe implement in your own business. This is what I do for a living. You know this. I am a business growth strategist and a implementation manager, and I love what I do. I love when my clients get results. I love when my clients get return on their investment with me ASAP. That is the role that I'm in. I want to share with you the things that I am learning so that you can also implement them too, and so if you're not on my newsletter list, then I would highly recommend that you sign up for my weekly newsletters I call them love letters and stay within our community, because I am here to grow.

Speaker 1:

This year. That's the mindset that I had. That's the goal and the desire that I had at the beginning of this year. The beginning of this year, i think I've mentioned it before, but I decided that I was going to start my year in. So this year, i think I've mentioned it before. So some of the things. So, like I said, take a pause, grab what you need, grab a notepad and your favourite pen and really use this episode to take notes and to really consider if there are things that you need to change in your lifestyle, in your business, to get you to the next stage of the life that you desire, because that's the thing, That's the whole reason why you listen to episodes like this, right? So this is what I am going to share with you.

Speaker 1:

So I did a number of things this year to change the growth of my business and I am happy to say that when I changed my mindset, when I changed my focus, when I really got clear on my path, on my framework, on the things that I really wanted to call in, things happened rapidly. And so I am here to share again that if you are in that place of your life or within your business where you know that you need that accountability to move the needle forward and you don't know where to start, you're procrastinating, you feel overwhelmed and that is stopping you from starting, then get in touch. I am here to help. I have client testimonials that share the work that we've done together and the outcomes that my amazing customers and the outcomes that my amazing clients have got over the course of period of working with me. And so come join us. Come join us, right. So the first thing I really gave you a.

Speaker 1:

So the first thing that I did was to change my mindset, like I said, and I decided that I wasn't going to start January the first, with everybody else trying to sell all of my products out there from, you know, out the gate in January. I wasn't going to use that energy to do that. I decided that I was going to start my quarter, my first quarter this year, in March, and that just helped my anxiety so so much. I had made the decision that in the first quarter, i was going to look at my systems, look at my foundations and set up my CRM, my customer relationship management system. That's what I was going to do to ensure that I could capture my leads, and then I can really help my customer journey be one that is top notch. And so that was really really important to me because, like you know, i am building my business and my brand around my daughter and my family needs, and I also don't want to be at my desk, you know, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 hours a week. That's just not the lifestyle that I want. I want to be very, very efficient with my time, and so that's how I want to run my business, and so, for the first quarter, that's exactly what I did. I spent the time setting up my systems, really really taking the time to look at my marketing strategies, the things that I wanted to do. I set my goals so that I knew what goals I wanted to achieve in the first quarter to ensure that I was ready to start scaling in the second quarter, which would have been my first quarter of revenue.

Speaker 1:

However, when you change your mindset and you leave some of that anxiety, energy, then work starts flowing in anyway, and that's exactly what happened to me. I had made the decision that first month, second month, third month of 2023, i had made the decision the first, the second and the third month of this new year that I was just gonna focus on systems. I wasn't really going to be trying to bring any new clients onto my roster. I was just going to be happy with the clients that I had and continue to work on my foundations and my operations. However, that didn't happen because I still bought on new clients, because I had given some of that energy that I was stressing about systems to the universe And I was starting to really work through that. I was really starting to work through those deliverables. So I had the time and energy to take on new clients And so that's what I did.

Speaker 1:

But my main objective was my systems and my foundation. So, if you know that one, you don't have your systems in place to take in payments, you don't have your systems in place to do onboard and off your clients and so forth, you don't have your system in place for contracts and all of the back-end work or your HR or your bookkeeping. That's the things that you need to look at And I will talk from experience. When I took the time to look at all of my systems and my foundations, i realized that I had gaps and that's what I worked on. And as an entrepreneur, as the CEO of your business, you're going to always be working on systems, foundations, sops, always, because when you grow, your business grows and things will change. But if you don't have the foundation set, then when you do start to scale, it's not going to be pretty and you are going to end up doing a lot of admin in the back-end, which could be chargeable hours, and so that was key for me to eliminate all of the admin that I had been doing previously.

Speaker 1:

Although I've got a team in place, there are certain things that I still take care of, and so it was important for me to make sure that I knew all of the things that I was taking care of and where I was being a bottleneck for my team, and so that they could take on some of the things that no longer sat with me. And so this is time to audit your business, audit your life, other things that you should be delegating to other people, ie in your life, with regards to the things that you're doing at home, other things that are taking up too much space, too much time, too much energy. Let's start to delegate other things within your business that you know you shouldn't be doing, but you're still holding on to them because you want to be in control of everything. I've been there for a long time. I'm in control of everything. I've been there. I know exactly how you feel, but you're not going to expand your business if you are still doing all of the things that your assistant could be doing or somebody else in your business who's better suited to do these things. So that was really important to me, my mindset over these things.

Speaker 1:

Tip number two leads. Tip number two leads. Tip number two has something to do with mindset too, and I found it really really, really, really helpful to really lean into this, and that was my money mindset. Whoo, so I like to make money, and some people will shudder at that, but you know why I'm not doing it. I'm not doing it because I'm not doing it. People will shudder at that, but you know why am I in business If I'm not trying to make money? right, we are not doing this as hobbies. We are doing this to earn as much. We are doing this to earn what we can and to have better lifestyles and to provide for other people that are in our community family and friends, you know we. So tip number two continues with mindset, and that was money mindset.

Speaker 1:

I really had to dig into my money mindset because, whoo, you know, i had some trauma around that. I had some real trauma about money because I was born here in the UK but my parents were immigrants and so you know, to them money didn't come easily. And for me, when I was growing up, i heard that constantly, and so when I started to work for myself and I started to gain independence and I started to work for different companies, i saw the value of the money that I was bringing in, and that also made me recognize that I didn't want people to take advantage of me. And so I've left jobs. When I've found out that my peers are being paid more than me when we are doing the same roles, i get into that in previous episodes. I'll try and link these episodes into the show notes.

Speaker 1:

But one of the reasons why I decided that I was going to go all in as a business owner, as an entrepreneur for myself, was because I would be in control of my own financials. And now I've been running my own company, for Goodness, wow, let's just say over 15 years, because I can't do the math right now, but I have been. But I was still contracted to another company, different companies, but now it's all on me, and so I do my accounts, but I'm not always on top of them. And so in February I decided that I was going to hire a money coach, and she has been absolutely amazing. She has really helped me to clear some of my money blocks and I'm going to have her as a guest so that she can share some of her tips with us. We're just working out when and the frequency, but I'm super excited about that because that was so helpful and it was just so needed.

Speaker 1:

Because of my trauma, i sometimes self-sabotage. I didn't realise I was going to be so transparent, but this is the whole reason why I'm here, right, sometimes I self-sabotage because I don't think I am deserving. Sometimes I think, oh well, you've made good revenue this month, felicia, why are you still trying for more? Don't be greedy, and it's not a fact of me being greedy. It's a fact of me being good at what I do and being paid what I should be paid for the services that I am providing. And I'm not just blowing, you know, and I'm not just bragging. But When a client works for me, when a client and I work together, i'm all in. I am all in. I want you to win And it is very important that from the get-go, we are on the same page, we are aligned, that your desires are what you want, because I want you to get there. So when you speak to me, i will hold you accountable. That is why I always end up getting repeat customers, referrals or past customers coming back to me because they know how I take care of them. But sometimes I self-sabotage myself, and so I am doing the work to ensure that I don't do that because I am deserving. But that stems back way back right And I don't have enough time on this episode to go into all of the intricacies.

Speaker 1:

But the colour of my skin, the fact that I was a woman in investment banking, it was a lot, and so when I am now trying to expand my own business, i need help, and so I hired Karen and she's been absolutely amazing to clear some of my blocks and also get me into a beautiful rhythm of bookkeeping. I kid you not. We sat down and we set up all of my bookkeeping, because I was using a spreadsheet before And this year I decided I am going to step right in two feet in as the CEO of Alisha Lifestyle, and so that's what we did, and we spent 10 hours going through all of my spreadsheets and my accounts and putting it onto a bookkeeping system, and she sat with me and we looked at each line item and we got everything in. We got everything reconciled, so now all I have to do is maintain that, and I do that on a weekly basis. I look at my numbers on a weekly basis. Now I look at my profit and loss, and that was really key for me.

Speaker 1:

To look at my profit and loss Ooh, that changed the game, because I could see what I was making on a month to month basis. I could see what I wanted to make going forward. I could see how much I made last year in comparison to this year. And let me tell you this, one of the months that I find the most hardest, because I'm in that grieving period that has been one of my biggest months ever because I did the work. I did the work at the beginning of this year, i got very clear of what I wanted and I did the work, and so now I am reaping the benefits from a financial standpoint, because everything is in a system And I can see that.

Speaker 1:

I can also see that I've been using and I can also see that I've been wasting money. Yes, because when you're busy, you forget about all of those little subscriptions that you signed up for, that you are not using, that you no longer require, and so that was an exercise in itself that Karen told me to do. She told me to go through all of my subscriptions that I no longer am using and to cancel them, and that saved me money. And so I want you to go and look at your subscriptions. I want you to go and look at your financials and look at the things that you no longer require or actually make a plan of how much money you want to make in the next quarter.

Speaker 1:

And I'm not here for the we shouldn't be talking money conversations anymore. I'm not here for that, because I made a significant investment to myself and my family this year that I want us to really enjoy time together, really enjoy time together, and so that means that I need to be able to to. I want us to enjoy memories together, enjoy time together. I've spoken on this so many times Life is not always, life is not promised, and so I want to make sure the time that we have together is enjoyable. We have memories, we do things together, and that will cost money, and so when I made that commitment to myself and to my family, it really gave me the confidence to really start to think about money in a different way, and so don't feel like you're being greedy. You're not being greedy, you are actually claiming what you actually need. So really think about that. Think about what it is that you need on a month to month basis to survive and then to thrive.

Speaker 1:

Another thing that I did which was beneficial to me as a person that loves to build relationships, but also beneficial for me from a energy standpoint and a business standpoint was really really focusing on my client relationships, on my friend relationships, on my community relationships. That really helped me energy wise, because I love people. I've told you more than once I am a recovering people pleaser, so pleasing people is part of my DNA. I don't know how to switch it off. Naturally, i have to work at that, because sometimes people take advantage of me because of that. But I really leaned into having intentional relationships with the people that I really enjoy being part of their lives and I enjoy them being part of mine, and that was really helpful, so helpful within my business, because then it becomes fun.

Speaker 1:

I'm here sharing wins with my business buddies. We're keeping in touch on a daily basis. We're getting closer. We're starting to feel part of the same community. I'm doing the same with my friends and family. Our relationships are getting better, which means that I don't feel stressed. I feel like I am loved and I'm supported, and that is huge. It's huge when you're on this entrepreneurial journey, because sometimes it's lonely, sometimes it's really hard. Let me say it again sometimes it is really hard to really juggle all of the things within your business. It's hard, and so, having the people around me that actually understand that, who are on their own journey and who want me to win in the business that I'm building, that's everything to me. And then the hearsayers, or the people who are not my cheerleaders, then they naturally fell away. And that's not to say that I don't still love and respect them, but that just means that our season at the moment, our seasons at the moment, are not aligned And when they are again, we will meet again.

Speaker 1:

I want you to really think about what you're doing in life, and are you doing it for the revenue? Are you doing it for the love? Are you doing it because you're passionate about it? Yeah, really think about that and maybe make that a journal prompt and really consider what I have just asked you, the question that I've just asked you, because I know that everything that I do in my business I absolutely love. However, there were parts of my strengths that I wasn't leaning into, and so I decided that I would listen to what my clients' needs were in the last six months.

Speaker 1:

And well, i was really surprised, because I love one-on-one coaching over a 12-week period. But there were quite a few of my clients that wanted that accelerated time with me. They wanted intensive packages that meant that they didn't do it over a 12 to 14 to 16 to 24-week period. They wanted to condense it into days, into weeks, and so that's what I did. I re-looked at some of my packages and, for those who wanted it, i created a VIP package which meant that they got to spend two days with me and then I had a strategic planning and then mapping out their plan, and then we had follow-up sessions after I built out their plan in their desired project management system And then we followed up with sessions after that to ensure that they were implementing what we had discussed.

Speaker 1:

And that really worked well for the clients that know exactly what they want. They know they want to scale their business, they know the revenue targets that they have, they know the path that they want to follow, but they need help. They need to understand the path that they're going to take to get to that place. They need somebody who has a futuristic mind which is one of my strengths and who is going to keep them positive and focus and provide them with confidence and clarity to transform the business that they have now and to scale it to the business that they want over the next year or so. And that's what I have been working on for the last three months. I've been serving clients who want VIP packages to really dig deeper into their needs and their requirements. They don't want to build this out over three months. They want this now so that they can take their business, so that they can scale their business to the hundreds and up to the million scale. And so I have really, really, really enjoyed seeing and really working with these particular clients that are on their own magical journey to really get what they want, and as their thought leader, as their chair leader, as their strategic planner, as their strategist implementation manager, watching them fly and flourish and get what they want is just everything to me. So I really, really have enjoyed building those relationships and really working with these clients.

Speaker 1:

And then, if this is something that sounds to you, that, and if this is something that sounds appealing to you and you want to look into working with me on a VIP basis, then please book a let's chat conversation so that we can connect and I can see, so that we can connect and we can see if our mission and our values align and see if I can help you in any way. I would love to help you on your, on your business growth journey as well. I will make sure all of the details are in the show notes. If the VIP package sounds a little overwhelming to you and you're like, oh, this, this sounds like a lot, i really want to dig into the next 30 days, then I also have an offering for you that you can find on my website. But don't take too long, because that offer is only going to be on my website for until. But don't take too long, because I will be shortly taking that offer down and solely concentrating on my VIP packages, my coaching and my consultancy packages, because unless people purchase this package, then I am going to retire it because maybe there's no need.

Speaker 1:

But this package is 90 minutes. We look at 30, then we look at your next 30 days, we build a plan and you go and run with that plan and I'm pretty much hands off. I help you strategically plan and then I map out the plan for you and then you implement. So you have the opportunity to do that also. But I always find that when people take on this package, they always want more because they need that accountability. So really consider that. So that package is called and you can find that offer on my website too. So I'm going to take care of everyone, but you need to want to take care and invest in yourself too.

Speaker 1:

I need to put this in somewhere, because I missed it A lot of the times. People really just need you to be a sounding board for them, to really look at it from different perspectives and really understand what they can and can't do, and most of the time, we're in our heads thinking that we can't do things. We can 100%. We can 100% can. When we can, 100% can do it, we just need somebody to help us to get there, and so that's the role that I take. I help you to get to your goals, and I love doing it.

Speaker 1:

Being very clear on what I wanted to spend my time delivering was really important too, and really leaning into and getting very confident in my framework really helped as well. This really just meant that I knew exactly what I wanted to deliver. I wanted to ensure that everybody got what they wanted out of my services. But every time that I work with somebody, it's bespoke, it is tailored to you. It's not cookie cutter. That's not how I roll at all, because we are all individuals and there are different ways that we learn, there are different ways that we execute, and so I take all of these things into consideration when we work together, because it is very important. And so when I got to do my financials for this quarter, i was blown away. So when I got to do my financials, so when I reviewed my financials for the last six months, i was blown away because by just changing my mindset, by nurturing myself, by just changing my mindset, getting very clear on my focus and gaining clarity and confidence, nourishing and nurturing myself and my clients, my family and my friends, really helped. And even down to changing up my surroundings, like my studio where I work. At the moment it looks very blank because we are just undergoing a refurb, but just changing that, getting rid of some of the clutter, changing out the flooring. All of these things helped because they were taking up energy and mind space in my head. They were taking up energy and brain space in my head and so when I started to do the small things around me as well, that really, really helped. And so don't forget the power of decluttering I've had I've done a episode on decluttering, so go back and listen to that episode with Robin.

Speaker 1:

Go and listen back to the episode with Michelle Rohr about the magic being you. You are the magic. You are the person who has the key to it all, listening to my intuition. You heard my episode from last week and, if you haven't, go back and listen to it. With regards to me going on the silent retreat and actually starting to trust and appreciate me and the things that I stand for and my vision and my mission and my integrity when it comes to working with clients, trusting all of those things and trusting the universe and my ancestors because, like I said, this grieving season has been hard, but they have still been looking after me. The universe still has my back. I know that sounds really cliche, but it really does, and I am super, super grateful for everybody who does, and so this episode was really just to give you an insight and a behind the scenes look at the things that I have been doing for the next quarter.

Speaker 1:

I am going to be really working on visibility because, like I said, foundations was, you know, first quarter and then implementing those foundations and working with new clients and corporate clients happened. Because I did this in the first quarter and now I am going to start looking at visibility because it is important and I am not just talking about being visible on social media. I have said it a few times now. I am ready to go out and network with other like minded people like myself and go and talk on panels and just stop hiding. I think for a while now, although I have had the show, one of the things that came up from the silent retreat was yes, you have got the show, yes, you have got the Alicia show, but you have still been hiding a little bit behind that. So now it is really time to open up my arms and embrace everything that is coming my way.

Speaker 1:

I am super excited for this time. I am super excited to be here each week talking to you, and I am extremely, extremely grateful that you continue to listen. Now. I need you to do me a favour. I need you to share this episode with five other people. Help me to let other women, business owners, other women know that it is okay to be trying to struggle everything. However, they have to look after themselves, and so if you know somebody who needs that well being nudge to take care of themselves, or if they want strategies to help them to build their businesses, or they want to just hear from different guests about their experiences, then tell them about the Alicia show, please. Anyway, until next week, i hope you have enjoyed this episode. I want you to go and invest in yourself, because you are important and you are loved. Take care of yourself and live for now. Bye, bye.
